Just minutes from downtown and steps from many of Yale’s graduate school campuses is East Rock, home of Corsair. Here in the neighborhood, quiet side streets give way to State Street, the main drag of restaurants, cafés, and shops that tend to have just the right amount of bustle. This nook of New Haven is settled along a crook in the Mill River and just below the steep cliffs of its namesake—a dramatic ridge of trap rock rising above the city. With a 427-acre park on one side and downtown on the other, East Rock is the best place to live in New Haven.

East Rock Park (home to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument) contains over 400 acres of land

Our favorite of New Havens vaunted apizza joints is De Legna located a few blocks away. If you want to change your life try the Rustica Pie.

One of the city’s hidden treasures is just down the street: the New Haven Free Public Library.

Every Saturday from June to October, the Upper State Street Farmers Market is open right outside the building.
